    You will live with the fear of reoccurrence for the rest of your life. My mother survived breast cancer and was diagnosed 8 years later with bladder cancer.

    There isn’t a cure for her bladder cancer, just constant checkups and outpatient procedures to remove spots as they grow. Her urologist is diligent in finding new treatments for his patients and even found her a clinical trial that was unfortunately, unsuccessful.

    The assumption that chemo is done and your life goes back to normal may be true for the other people in a survivor’s life, but not for the survivor themselves.
